SUMMER SCHOOL FIELD SURVEYING FACILITIES
The MED MARE HUB has at its disposal highly sophisticated equipment, which can be used for: (i) Hydrographic (bathymetric) surveying,
(ii) Marine Geophysical surveying and
(iii) Sediment geotechnical site investigation.
The MED MARE HUB has a purpose survey boat 16m long. The survey boat has a large cabin for the installation of acquisition and processing data systems, and a large deck with a winch suitable for deploying over the site or astern. The following equipment is on board the survey boat.

Seafloor Imaging Sonars (Side Scan Sonars)
- EdgeTech 4200 SP digital towfish dual frequency with 200m armoured tow cable capable of operating in water depth up to 600m and 4200-P Topside Processor with Discover Software.
- E.G&G. 272 TD towfish with 50m, 200m and 600m double armoured tow cable capable of operating in water depth up to 300m and EdgeTech 4100 P Topside Processor with Discover Software.
